Bonjour Paris Enthusiasts,

First I want to thank all of you who have written to my husband and me through our Chez Provence.com website. Your suggestion and encouragement to build a site devoted to Paris offering the same kind of help that we offer in Provence is what brings to you today - Chez Paris.

Tour Eiffel is as symbolic of Paris as a sunflower is to Provence. Although Paris has so many magestic symbols, picking one was truly difficult. Our love for France began with the city of love and lights – Paris. From there each region has brought into our lives everything to which one could dream. We’ve learned a lot about traveling in France and because we’ve had so much help from our new French friends and neighbors, we wanted to help you have the same kind of experiences. And…besides, instead of just counting the days until our return to France, we can fill in our time with your daydreams.

With a little bit of guidance on finding an apartment and how to get from the airport and what books and maps are the best…you, too, can have experiences that are unforgettable. And we can help. When we talk about our adventures with friends, they just can’t understand how brave we can be to be on our own in an apartment vs staying in a hotel in a foreign country. Many of them worry about not speaking French and therefore only stay in expensive 4 star hotels that can make all arrangements for them. Granted, it is easier…. but do you really get the kind of advice and experiences that can make the trip all that it can be. I don’t think so. Matter of fact, I know so. Do you know the old wives tale… “know your jeweler”? I’d like to add to that “know your travel guide”. And with a little help you too can enjoy France and…when in France… “do as the French do”! This statement is said time and time again because it is what can make your time in France all that it can be.
